Graduate of an accredited certificate program for EMT-Paramedics, current credentials as a North Carolina EMT-Paramedic or eligibility for legal recognition, and ability to complete unit specific competencies and pass megacode testing required. Associate in Applied Science, National Registry and completion of a Critical Care Paramedic Program preferred. Three(3) years of pre-hospital experience required; five (5) years preferred. Requires BLS and ACLS prior to hire, TNCC, BTLS or PHTLS, PALS or completed within 6 months of hire. Must be able to tolerate standing and walking majority of shift. Push/pull 50 pounds max, up to 25 pounds frequently. Frequently assumes various awkward postures, including crouching, bending, overhead and forward reach. Must be able to perform fine motor skills, have good verbal skills, visual and auditory acuity. This job requires shift work and occasional exposure to dust and fumes.
