WakeMed Foundation Appoints Kelleigh Smith as Director of Capital Giving
RALEIGH, N.C. (May 1, 2007) � The WakeMed Foundation has named Kelleigh Smith as Director of Capital Giving. In this role, Smith will manage the overall activities of Campaign 2011 � the WakeMed Foundation�s $50 million capital and endowment campaign. She will coordinate and execute strategies to achieve the campaign�s goals and objectives, working closely with the Campaign Cabinet, Foundation Board of Directors and Foundation Staff, along with the key leadership in WakeMed Administration.
Smith comes to WakeMed from UNC-Chapel Hill, where she served as Director of Major Gifts for the Kenan-Flagler Business School during the university�s $2 billion Carolina First Campaign. She also served as Associate Director of Major Gifts with the Arts & Sciences Foundation, where she managed the $22 million capital campaign for the Carolina Physical Science Complex. Prior to joining UNC-Chapel Hill, Smith helped launch the Alliance for Lupus Research, a national, voluntary health organization co-founded by Robert Wood Johnson IV and the Arthritis Foundation.
Smith earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from UNC-Chapel Hill.
