The Volunteers at WakeMed Cary Hospital

Happy New Year!
The combination Jewelry Sale and Peanut Roaster sale on December 7, 2006 was a huge success. Thanks to all our volunteers who helped people do their shopping that day.

Our next sale is a Uniform Sale on March 29th. Please sign up if you are able to help out.

Construction on the Meditation Room at Cary Hospital has been delayed until early Spring. This is due to the permits needed to begin the conversion of the room to be used. I understand the stained glass panels have been finished and are awaiting their new home.

During the last Board Meeting in November, we had some volunteer visitors sit in on the meeting to see how the Board works and what is done at our meetings. If you are interested in attending a meeting, please call the Volunteer office for dates and times.

Our main effort this year is the Golf Outing in October. We still need people to help us organize this event. There are many different jobs available, both now and at the Golf Outing itself. No knowledge of golf is needed. If you are able to help in any way, please contact Bethany in the Volunteer Services office.

In April the Volunteer Board of Cary Hospital is sponsoring a Health Screening for our Volunteers. We are now in the process of contacting health professionals to conduct tests and screenings of various kinds. The Board is sponsoring this free Health Screening Day to thank all the volunteers for their dedicated service and hard work. The date and time of this event will be mailed to all of you soon.
