Home Treatment: DO NOT induce vomiting.
Before Calling Emergency: Determine the following information:
- Patient's age, weight, and condition
- The name of the product (ingredients and strengths if known)
- When it was swallowed
- The amount swallowed

What to expect at the emergency room: The patient may be given activated charcoal and a laxative. Symptoms will be treated as needed.
Some or all of the following procedures may be performed:
- EKG
- Blood tests to check thyroid level
Expectations (prognosis): Patients who receive quick treatment make a good recovery. Cardiac complications may lead to death.�
Symptoms are often delayed up to one week. They may be treated successfully with several medications.
