Question:

Is breast reduction surgery a risky procedure?

Answer:

All surgeries have some risk. Some complications associated with breast reduction surgery are bleeding, infection, and anesthesia complications. There may also be temporary bruising, swelling, some permanent scarring (which can often be hidden by a bra or bathing suit), loss of nipple sensation, and inhibited or compromised ability to breast feed. You should discuss the surgery and risks with your doctor. See reduction mammoplasty.
