Minority Summer Internship Program
WakeMed Health & Hospital’s Summer Minority Internship Program is a 12-week paid program (May-August). This internship program provides opportunities for students in graduate and undergraduate healthcare programs to work in the healthcare setting alongside an experienced staff of professionals. Interns will be mentored by managers or preceptors who will provide projects and familiarize the intern with healthcare procedures, and organizational structure and culture.
The WakeMed Health & Hospital's Summer Minority Program was established in 1994 to enhance minority representation in leadership roles within the hospital system.
Requirements:
- Be a full-time student attending an accredited college or university
- Be a least a junior or senior in a baccalaureate degree program or graduate degree program in public health, health policy administration, health administration or business administration with an emphasis in health care
- Have an overall 3.0 GPA
- Be a minority student
- Be available to work 12 consecutive weeks during the summer
- Provide your own transportation and housing
During the interview process, two (2) professional references and an official copy of your most recent transcript will be required.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, days
