Respiratory Therapy Scholars

Applications are accepted online May through June each year.  please apply to "Scholars, Respiratory" positions.

The WakeMed Scholars Program for Respiratory Therapy Students offers you the chance to fulfill your career goals.  The maximum tuition reimbursement amount awarded is $2,000 per academic year.  Selection criteria are based on references to include a referral from your academic program director, interviews and academic achievement.

What is my commitment?
After selection, you must meet the following criteria:

• Accept and maintain supplemental employment at WakeMed Health & Hospitals.
• Maintain your status as a full-time student with an overall GPA of at least 2.5.
• After graduation, agree to work full-time at WakeMed one year for each year of receipt of the scholarship.

How do I apply?
Applications are accepted in May and June each year depending on availability of slots.  Interested applicants are encouraged to apply on-line for the "Scholars, Respiratory" position.

To participate in the Scholars program, you must be enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy education program.  To apply,

• Complete a WakeMed online application.
• Provide transcripts from the most recent school attended.
• Provide a recommendation from your program director.
