Central Carolina Hospital and WakeMed to Work Together on Staff & Community Education
SANFORD, NC � June 22, 2006 � Central Carolina Hospital and WakeMed Health & Hospitals is pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement to work together on numerous hospital-based initiatives. One of the first initiatives the organizations will address is the provision of advanced educational opportunities for Central Carolina�s staff. The hospitals will also work together on other education and wellness programs, including community health education seminars, screenings and outreach activities in the Sanford area.
This agreement provides us with access to WakeMed�s extensive staff development and training resources right here in our community. The resulting educational opportunities will benefit not only our nursing and other staff, but ultimately our patients,� said Dale Armstrong, chief executive officer at Central Carolina Hospital. We will also work with WakeMed to enhance community education opportunities through activities such as heart health seminars, stroke education and screenings.�
