Each February during American Heart Month, the WakeMed Heart Center takes the opportunity to step out and share the importance of taking care of your heart. Whether it's undergoing a procedure, learning about risk factors for heart disease, considering healthier eating options or putting your best foot forward on the treadmill, your health is close to our hearts. We are offering free seminars, screenings and events to put heart health top of mind for you and your loved ones. So please join us - your heart will thank you!

YMCA Heart Health Days
7:30 to 11 am
Join us at a YMCA facility near you. Featuring free cholesterol screenings (while supplies last), blood pressure checks, heart health education and more. YMCA membership is not required, but pre-registration for cholesterol screenings is required. Call 350-7132 to register.

Dance for Your Heart
Dance your way to a heart healthy lifestyle! WakeMed Health Specialist Laura Aiken will share exercises aimed at improving balance, agility and flexibility. Dancers from the Sassy Classics Senior Rockettes group will give a special performance, complete with tips form their workout routine.

American Iron Chef Dishes Out a Heart Healthy Meal

WakeMed Healthworks Celebrates 20 Years with Our Cardiac "Thrivers"

To celebrate this milestone, Healthworks is inviting our current and former Cardiac Rehabilitation and Safeway to Fitness participants, as well as those who want to learn more about these programs, for an Open House and Luncheon.
