Surgical Services
Our Surgical Services department performs inpatient procedures at both the Raleigh campus and WakeMed Cary Hospital, along with outpatient procedures in our three Day Surgery Centers.
Intensive Care Nursery
Our Level IV Intensive Care Nursery is the most experienced in Wake County, offering the specialized care for critically-ill babies.
Oncology
Members of our Oncology team help cancer patients treat and often, beat their disease by using the latest, most effective cancer-fighting drugs on the market.
Mothers' Milk Bank
It is one of only nine milk banks in the United States, with nearly 100,000 ounces of human donor milk being pasteurized for use at WakeMed or shipped to all parts of the country on an annual basis.
Pathology
Our state-of-the art Pathology laboratories proudly boast CAP accreditation, the highest honor bestowed on pathology programs by the College of American Pathologists.
Diabetes Management Program
Our caring staff of diabetes nurse clinicians and dieticians help adults learn to control their diabetes by eating healthy, exercising and properly taking medications.
Pediatric Diabetes Program
Our team specializes in helping kids feel confident about managing their diabetes, empowering them to live normal lives.
Pediatric Asthma Program
We’re committed to helping children and their families manage this disease through proper education about methods to control and prevent asthma attacks.
Stroke Center
Ours is the first hospital in Wake County to earn the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) Gold Seal of Approval for stroke care.
AHEC Regional Education
WakeMed is home to one of North Carolina’s nine Area Health Education Centers.
WakeMed Faculty Physicians
Our system’s team of highly-skilled house physicians specialize in internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, orthopaedics, oncology, general urology, obstetrics & gynecology, pediatrics and ENT – head & neck surgery.
Neurodiagnostic Sleep Lab
Since 1991, professionals in our Sleep Lab have studied over 4,500 patients who suffer from common sleep disorders like sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy and Restless Legs Syndrome.
