WakeMed Cary Hospital, the only full-service hospital in Cary, is proud to bring quality medical care to one of the top-rated places to live in the nation.
Since opening in 1991, WakeMed Cary Hospital has become an integral component of the WakeMed system. We offer patients the friendliness and warmth of a community hospital, with all of the sophistication and expertise of a regional medical center. Our 114-bed community hospital provides quality health care for the residents of Cary, the western portion of Wake County and surrounding areas.
Our services include:
- 24-hour Emergency Services
- Women’s Pavilion & Birthplace (the only birthing facility in Cary)
- Cardiac Catheterization Lab
- Day Surgery & Operative Services
- An Intensive Care Unit
- Inpatient Nursing Units: Medical/Surgical and Telemetry
- Cardiopulmonary Services
- Imaging Services
- Outpatient Rehab Center
WakeMed Cary Hospital completed an $80 million expansion in 2004, which nearly tripled its size. Included in this expansion were additions to the Women’s Pavilion & Birthplace, surgical services, a cardiac catheterization lab, expanded emergency services, women’s diagnostic center and a conference center. The facility is now a 114-bed full-service hospital with a vast array of outpatient services and a medical staff representing nearly every specialty.
In August 2006, the long-awaited Cary Hospital Emergency Department expansion was completed. The ED is now separated into two treatment areas, designated as A Bay and B Bay. The original ED is A Bay. The opening of the new space, B Bay, provides additional treatment rooms, triage rooms, a family consultation room, staff lounge and a new nurses’ station.
The Cary Hospital Emergency Department’s increased patient volumes over the past several years reflect the national trend. The new design of the ED will facilitate efficient treatment of patients in a “family friendly” environment.
WakeMed Cary Hospital is centrally located at the corner of Tryon and Kildaire Farm Roads.
